Data Processing Manager (Houston)
UTEC Survey seeks a Data Processing Manager in Houston, TX. Develop and implement onshore and offshore data handling processes and procedures. Maintain and further develop UTEC's US Gulf of Mexico survey database. Provide relevant data from UTEC's GOM database as part of project data pack preparation. Select data processing hardware and software for onshore and offshore applications. Liaising with hardware and software vendors to address data processing related technical queries. Coordinate, process, and deliver final deliverables. Archive project data according to approved procedures. Develop training programs for data processing personnel. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Geomatics or Geomatics Technology + 2 yrs in job or 2 Yrs experience in processing and presentation of subsea survey data. In lieu of degree will accept 4 years of experience in processing and presentation of subsea survey data. Assistant Accountant (Lowestoft)
You will be experienced both in Financial and Management Accounting. You must be able to adhere to deadlines and be experienced in producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year end accounts. As a member of a small team you will be expected to assist with general accounting duties when necessary. Experience with Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll would be an advantage. Good IT skills are essential.

Purchasing Manager (Lowestoft)
You will be experienced in purchasing and have a degree preferably in business. You would be responsible for purchasing all inventory, supplies and capital goods, including negotiating price, delivery and credit terms. Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential. Familiarity with accounting, purchasing and spreadsheet applications is required.

CAD Operator (Lowestoft)
You will be working onshore in the Lowestoft office and will be experienced with AutoCAD and MicroSTATION.

Travel Coordinator (Lowestoft)
To arrange travel within the UK and abroad. You will be experienced in all aspects of foreign travel including arranging visas. You will be an experienced user of Microsoft excel and word.

Proposal Engineer (Aberdeen/Lowestoft)
A Proposal Engineer is required to join the Project team. Responsibilities include coordinating technical and commercial evaluation of tenders along with preparation and submission of bid documents. This position is considered the ‘seed bed’ for project management and candidates will be trained and mentored into a project management role.

Construction Support Party Chiefs (Offshore)
To ensure that the on-site project management is effective and meets all safety, commercial/contractual and quality criteria set out by the client and by UTEC. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Project Specific, Project Manager, the Party Chief is UTEC’s senior onboard representative. It is the Party Chief’s role to supervise those members of the survey team for whom (s)he is responsible from the standpoint of technical and personal management.

Construction Support Senior Surveyors (Offshore)
To ensure on-site data acquisition is effective and meets contractual and quality acceptance criteria. Reporting to the Party Chief, the Senior Surveyor is responsible for the correct acquisition and processing of all positioning data (vessel & sensors) and subsea data acquired during the survey. The Senior Surveyor also performs the duty of either an ‘Online Navigator’ or a ‘Data Processor’.

Construction Support Senior/Survey Engineers (Offshore)
Will operate, maintain and repair company operated surface and subsurface survey equipment. The Engineer shall have at least two years experience in the field of offshore marine construction and will have a proven record in offshore survey. The Senior Engineer will have at least three years proven experience in the marine construction field and have the ability to lead other engineers. S(he) will report to the Party Chief.

Construction Support Survey Project Manager (Aberdeen)
To act as representative in marketing the services of the Company, with all external organisations potentially involved with the commercial activities of the Company. The Project Manager will liaise with internal departments and external organisations in the preparation and submission of quotations. S(he) will have responsibility for the continuous co-ordination of all project elements from inception to conclusion. The position will serve as the main point of contact with customer(s) in the overall co-ordination and management of projects. S(he) will ensure that all financial, contractual and other administrative items are expedited and completed in connection with individual projects.

Geotechnical Engineers
Graduate or experienced geologists, geotechnical engineers or engineering geologists interested in marine geotechnics. Working predominantly offshore and at our Lowestoft office, the positions will involve offshore and near-shore geotechnical site investigations in the UK and worldwide. Offshore involves geotechnical and occasionally geophysical data acquisition with responsibility for geotechnical reporting. You must be able to work in a team and have a practical and flexible approach as you will be part of, and eventually lead a multi-disciplined team in a challenging environment. When working in the office you will be expected to carry out core logging and soil testing in our laboratory and to prepare geotechnical reports. Ideally you should hold a degree in Geology or a similar subject. Experience of site investigation work to BS 5930 and soil testing to BS1377 is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Geophysical Engineer/Senior Geophysical Engineer (Offshore)
Will operate, maintain and repair company operated analogue and/or digital survey equipment. The Engineer shall have at least two years experience in the field of offshore analogue and/or digital survey acquisition and the Senior Engineer will have three years experience and will have a proven record of supervising offshore survey engineering teams.

Senior Surveyor (Offshore)
Will be responsible for the correct acquisition and processing of all positioning data (vessel & sensors) and bathymetric data acquired during the survey. The successful candidate will be required to perform the duties of either an “Online Navigator” or a “Data Processor”. (S)he shall have experience with the principles of surveying offshore especially in the fields of positioning and multi-beam echo sounding. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquisition and logging of positional data and for calibration of survey sensors.

Base Geophysical Engineering Manager (Lowestoft)
Requires day to day liaison with suppliers of survey equipment, ensuring required equipment reaches, and is returned from vessels in a timely and cost effective manner. Administration of Defect and None Conformance reports, and to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company procedures and contractual scopes of work. You will need to be experienced with offshore geophysical survey equipment and will need to be able to work under pressure and be able to apply a flexible approach to both work type and hours. It may occasionally be necessary to go to sea.

Geophysical Engineering Manager (Lowestoft)
This position requires a senior survey engineer/manager with recent experience in shallow seismic operations, techniques and equipment to join the existing Technical Department within the company. The successful candidate will be required to supervise the technical aspects of offshore geophysical operations, to manage personnel, be technically qualified and experienced and should be prepared to travel globally to mobilisation locations. Candidates will need to be able to work under pressure and be able to apply a flexible approach to both work type and hours. It may occasionally be necessary to go to sea.

Offshore Survey Project Manager (Aberdeen/Lowestoft)
An experienced Project Manager is required to join the Project team. Responsibilities include technical and commercial evaluation of tenders along with preparation of bid documents, implementation of client work scopes; client, departmental & subcontractor liaison. The project manager maintains overall responsibility for the commercial and technical success of offshore survey projects.

Marine Environmental Project Manager (Lowestoft)
An experienced environmental professional is required to develop and lead a small in-house environmental team and manage environmental subcontractor services. The role would be suited to an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual with relevant qualifications and experience. Previous experience in project management, gained within a marine environmental consultancy discipline is required.

Offshore Geophysicists
Trainee and experienced Geophysicists required to work on survey vessels offshore North Sea / Africa / Worldwide. May be required to follow up projects in the Lowestoft office. Projects will include site surveys, route surveys and pipeline inspections. Equipment used will include side scan sonar, single channel profilers (boomer or pinger), magnetometers, gravity corers and digital seismic systems. Will be required to QC and interpret data, log seabed samples and produce reports to Utec and Client requirements. Utec specialises in workstation based interpretation and reporting so a high degree of computer literacy is an advantage. Also required to assist party chief to ensure survey objectives are met. Will be required to work on deck for mobilisation, equipment deployment, recovery and during seabed sampling. Will need a good awareness of health and safety. A flexible attitude to working hours and travel is required.

Senior Geophysicist (Lowestoft)
Experienced geophysicist required for onshore position within reporting department. Work involves interpretation of side scan sonar, shallow profiler (boomer and pinger) and 2D digital and seismic data. To produce charts and write reports to a very high standard, usually within tight deadlines. Typical projects include rig site surveys and cable or pipeline route surveys. Vessels currently operating in North Sea and offshore Africa with potential to work with data from around the world
