In-situ piezocone penetration testing (CPT Testing)
UTEC’s Roson wheel-drive seabed CPT system can operate in water depths of up to 1500 meters performing in-situ piezocone CPT testing using cones from 5 to 15cm2, T-bar or ball penetrometer and dissipation tests, with overburden penetration to depths of up to 40 meters below seabed in suitable conditions. During each CPT sample, the cone is advanced and retracted at 2cm per second. The acquired data is uplinked via cable to a surface recording and data processing unit. All testing is carried out in full accordance with the international specifications and standards (ISO, ASTM and NGI) for in-situ testing.
